Název diplomové práce: Occupational therapy program in the cognitive Day Care Centre of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine General University Hospital Abstract: Cognitive functions are an essential part of every individual's daily life. Day Care Centers focused on cognitive rehabilitation are still not yet availeble, well known and widespread in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis focuses on rehabilitation programs for people with acquired brain injury. The main aim is provide an overview of therapeutic programs that focus on cognitive rehabilitation. The theoretical part of the work also deals with the issue related to the rehabilitation of cognitive function. The aim of the practical part is to verify the effect of intensive 4-week memory therapy in the cognitive program of patients with acquired brain injury at the Day Care Centers of the Charles University 1st Faculty of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine General Faculty Hospital. A secondary aim is to update the protocol of the aforementiones program and verify its feasibility by occupational therapists. Title of the Diploma Thesis: Occupational Therapy During Hospitalization of Alcohol- dependent Persons: Proposing Therapeutic Program for the Rehabilitation of Cognitive Functions Abstract: This diploma thesis is focused on the matter of rehabilitation of cognitive functions in alcohol-dependent persons. Main aim of the thesis is to design and evaluate a therapeutic program focused on the most frequently damaged cognitive functions in persons with alcohol dependence. Secondary objectives of this thesis are to create materials for parts of program and to find out how satisfied patients are with the program. Theoretical part of the thesis contains general knowledge concerning alcohol dependence and cognitive functions. Attention is also paid to the issue of brain damage due to alcohol dependence and related cognitive rehabilitation. At the end of the theoretical part, possibilities of occupational therapy intervention in the field of addictology and current state of occupational therapy in addictology care in the Czech Republic are presented. The utilization of CogniPlus system in cognitive-functions training during the occupational therapy for people with acquired brain injury

Aquired brain injury is still a current topic and a serious problem nowadays. After a treatment, a lot of consequences appear which cause a long-term inability to work and invalidation of many people. One of the serious problems is a disorder of cognitive functions which disables people to get back to a normal life. One of the options how to affect the cognitive functions impairment is a system called CogniPlus. Theoretical part of this work presents aquired brain injury, its dividing, basic classification and the consequences. Furthermore, this work dedicates to rehabilitation of cognitive functions using both computers and conventional methods. It also shows the work of the occupational therapist and the possibility of cognitive function testing. The aim of the research is to find out if CogniPlus cognitive function training is more effective than the conventional pencil-paper method. 20 people were tested in this study. Unfortunately, one of them had to quit due to health problems. The experimental and the control group had a therapy once or twice a week. All the participants went through Addenbrooke cognitive test and through a questionnaire of cognitive mistakes at the beginning and at the end of the testing. Zuzana Rodová, M.Sc Title of the Bachelor Thesis: The Usage of Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment in Individual Occupational Therapy of the Patients with Cognitive Problems Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of cognitive functions using Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assesment (LOTCA). The theoretical part includes knowledge of occupational therapy and cognitive functions. Further on it briefly describes the diagnostics of cognitive functions and their rehabilitation. A whole chapter is dedicated to LOTCA, the key testing instrument. This chapter describes all its versions, especially its dynamic form used in the practical part of the work. The practical part contains 2 case studies of the patients with cognitive problems. Both of them were elaborated at the Department of Rehabilitation, the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague.
